If you are experiencing dental pain, here are some measures that may help until you can come in for your appointment:
- Take recommended doses of over-the counter painkillers, such as paracetamol or ibuprofen – read instructions before taking
- Use an anaesthetic gel or clove oil – these can be purchased from a pharmacy
- Keep you head elevated at nigh. Lying down can increase blood pressure in the tooth and cause pain
- Keep the area cold by applying a cold pack (or a bag of frozen vegetables) to your cheek. Don’t apply this directly to the tooth as this may increase the pain and cause damage t the tissue.
If you have swelling or bleeding however, please contact us immediately.
