Are You Ready For Some Summer Smoothness?

    By Rachael Blyth | Facial Rejuvenation, Updates | 0 comment | 6 May, 2015 | 0

Do you feel like your skin needs a boost or a freshen up? Many of our patients say that after one of our Facial Aesthetic treatments that is exactly how they feel, fresher and brighter. Your friends will notice the same, they will say you look brighter but they will not be able to see exactly what has changed. This is because the Facial Aesthetic treatments we carry out at tooth+ naturally enhance your skin and complexion.

We offer two types of treatments, wrinkle relaxing, or BOTOX® as you probably know it, and Juvéderm® facial fillers to plump up lines and creases and enhance lips.

Up till now only Rachael, our Clinical Director has provided these treatments, but due to an increase in demand, our Dental Therapist Kirsty is now fully qualified in facial aesthetics and can  also provide you with these treatments.

    How does BOTOX® work?

BOTOX®, our wrinkle smoothing treatment, works by stopping the transmission of the nerve impulse to the muscle thereby relaxing the underlying muscle. This is commonly used between the eyebrows to reduce frown lines, around the eyes to reduce crows feet, and on the forehead again to reduce frown lines.

A BOTOX® treatment involves a consultation to assess the muscle function in your face and to get to know the kind of look you are looking for. Once the treatment has been decided upon it is very quick to be administered, a matter of minutes.

BOTOX® takes effect over the next two weeks and sometimes you can even start to see changes within the first day. You can expect to feel a little tender after with the potential for some bruising so we don’t advise you have this treatment straight before a special occasion, give yourself  the two week period to recover  and for the treatment to take its full effect.

    What is Juvéderm® treatment?

Our other treatments are using Juvéderm®, a facial filler. This is hyaluronic acid which is a natural constituent of collagen and is in the form of a gel. We inject this just under the surface of the skin and you will see instant results from this kind of treatment. We inject into the crease lines between the nose and the corners of the mouth or just into the lines at the corners of the mouth. We also use this product to enhance lips to fill out and give volume to the lips.

Again you can experience some bruising and soreness after these treatments so allow yourself a recovery period before any social functions.

    The Wedding Show Offer

Kirsty will be at the Alloa Wedding Show, Alloa Town Hall on Sunday May 10th and will be delighted to answer any of your queries, We will also be running a special offer   If you pick up one of our vouchers at the show it will entitle you to £50 off laser tooth whitening when you have botox or fillers at tooth+.

For a full list of prices please follow the link and then book in with Kirsty for some Summer Smoothness.
